Spineye.com is run by Ben-G. This page explains how the site is funded, because a review site owes its readers that explanation up front.
How we make money — and right now, we don’t
As of 16 August 2026, Spineye takes part in no affiliate programme and earns no commission from anything on this site. There are no affiliate links on any page. We are telling you this because most sites in this category do earn commissions, and you are entitled to know which kind you are reading.
We expect that to change. When it does, three things will happen before a single paid link goes live: this page will be updated with the date and the list of programmes we have joined, every affiliate link will be marked with a rel="sponsored" attribute, and each affected article will say so at the top.
If you buy through a link here today, we receive nothing.
What will not change when it does
Affiliate relationships will never determine our rankings, scores or recommendations. Where the product we recommend most highly pays us nothing, we recommend it anyway and say so in the article.
Products are never included in exchange for payment, and no vendor sees an article before it is published.
How we review
Most of our reviews are research-based: we work from official documentation, release notes, source repositories, provider pricing pages and reported user experience, and we link every source. Where we have used a product hands-on, we say so explicitly in the article. Where we have not, we say that too.
Prices and specifications carry the date on which they were observed, because both change.
