This Seline Analytics review looks at the new Seline AppSumo lifetime deal and asks the question buyers actually have: should you pick Seline, Plausible or the free Google Analytics 4? Seline is a cookieless, privacy-first analytics tool from a tiny team in Poland. The deal is cheap, but a few details on the listing deserve a second look.
This review is based on public pages and user reports: the AppSumo listing and its buyer Q&A, G2 reviews, Reddit threads, the WordPress.org plugin page, Google’s GA4 documentation and the official pricing pages of Seline and Plausible. It is not based on hands-on testing. Prices checked 29 September 2026.
Key Takeaways
- The Seline AppSumo deal has five tiers: $59, $129, $289, $399 and $599, for 25,000 up to 1,000,000 pageviews a month. Only the pageview limit changes. (AppSumo)
- Custom events count toward the same monthly limit as pageviews, the founder confirmed. (founder answer)
- Seline has no free plan today, only a 7-day trial without a card. Older pages still mention a free tier, so treat those as outdated. (seline.com/pricing)
- The deal lists 3 years of data retention, while the direct Pro plan promises “forever” retention. (AppSumo, seline.com/pricing)
- Against Plausible, Seline includes funnels, journeys and revenue analytics on every plan. Plausible reserves them for its Business plan. (seline.com/pricing, plausible.io)
- The WordPress plugin is at version 1.0.0 with fewer than 10 active installs. The founder recommends the manual script instead. (founder answer)
- On G2, Seline scores 4.8/5 from 9 reviews, and several reviewers also appear as testimonials on Seline’s homepage. (G2)
1What is Seline Analytics?
Seline is a lightweight web and product analytics tool that works without cookies. It shows visitors, referrers, countries, devices and UTM campaigns in real time, and adds visitor journeys, funnels, custom events and revenue tracking. The company is bootstrapped, based in Poland, and says its data is hosted in Germany.

According to AppSumo’s company card, Seline was founded on 23 July 2024 in Poland, has 1–10 employees and is bootstrapped. The founder is Kostya Nesterovich (AppSumo). Seline’s about page names a four-person team for tech, content and illustrations and says the first sketches were made in February 2024 (seline.com/about-us). In his AppSumo post, the founder says Seline runs on around 1,000 websites and processes tens of millions of events a day. Those are his own numbers.
The feature list is broad for a “simple” tool. The vendor lists visitor journeys, profiles, funnels, custom events and revenue attribution with Stripe, Polar and Shopify. It also has an AI chat and MCP server, a live globe view, advanced bot detection and a public API (seline.com). One detail is timely: Seline tracks visitors referred by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude. That is the human side of AI traffic. If you also want to see the AI crawlers that never show up in a JavaScript tracker, our Honeylog review covers server-log monitoring.
How the cookieless tracking works
Seline’s GDPR page explains the method. It sets no cookies on visitors. To count daily unique visitors it hashes the domain, IP address and browser user agent with a daily salt that differs per domain. IP addresses are never stored, and the country comes from a Cloudflare header. Deleted data leaves backups after 30 days (seline.com/gdpr). The page also says it is “not intended to serve as legal advice”, and we found no independent audit of these claims.
Installation is one script tag: <script src="https://cdn.seline.com/seline.js" data-token="PROJECT_TOKEN" async></script>. Custom events use seline.track() and logged-in users use seline.setUser() (seline.com/docs/wordpress). Seline has integration docs for Framer, Webflow, Next.js, Google Tag Manager, Shopify, WordPress, Stripe and Google Search Console.
2Seline pricing in 2026: the AppSumo deal vs monthly Pro
Seline sells one Pro plan with every feature, priced by monthly pageviews: $9 for 10,000 up to $649 for 20 million. The AppSumo lifetime deal costs $59 to $599 once, for 25,000 to 1,000,000 pageviews a month, with a 60-day refund. At list prices the deal pays off in about 4 to 6 months.

| AppSumo tier | Price once (was) | Pageviews / month | Nearest Seline Pro plan | Payback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | $59 ($170) | 25,000 | 25k: $14/mo | ≈ 4.2 months |
| Tier 2 | $129 ($300) | 125,000 | 250k: $34/mo | ≈ 3.8 months |
| Tier 3 (recommended) | $289 ($420) | 275,000 | 500k: $59/mo | ≈ 4.9 months |
| Tier 4 | $399 ($720) | 550,000 | 1M: $99/mo | ≈ 4.0 months |
| Tier 5 | $599 ($1,200) | 1,000,000 | 1M: $99/mo | ≈ 6.1 months |
The AppSumo tiers do not line up with Seline’s direct volume steps, so each tier is compared with the smallest Pro plan that covers it. Monthly billing, excluding VAT. Sources: AppSumo and seline.com/pricing, 29 September 2026.

The full Pro price ladder is $9 for 10,000 pageviews, $14 for 25,000, $24 for 100,000, $34 for 250,000, $59 for 500,000, $99 for 1 million, and up to $649 for 20 million. Yearly billing gives two months free, and there is a 7-day trial with no credit card (seline.com/pricing). Pricing is per website, but sites can be linked to share one limit. Seline only asks you to upgrade after two months in a row over the limit, or if you go five times over. An optional “Done-for-you” setup costs $99.
The AppSumo deal terms are standard: lifetime access, all future Pro plan updates, activation within 60 days and a 60-day refund. One clause deserves attention: future AI models may be discounted or may need an add-on (deal terms). The deal launched on 28 September 2026 as an AppSumo Launchpad listing and showed 14 purchases a day later.
From $59 once for 25,000 pageviews a month, with a 60-day refund on AppSumo.

4Seline vs Plausible vs GA4: which analytics tool fits?
Seline and Plausible are both cookieless, EU-based and start at $9 a month for 10,000 pageviews. Seline puts funnels, journeys and revenue attribution in every plan; Plausible keeps them for Business. GA4 is free, but it sets cookies and its consent mode is designed to work with a consent banner.
| Criterion | Seline | Plausible | GA4 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry price | $9/mo for 10k; LTD from $59 once for 25k/mo | $9/mo Starter for 10k | Free |
| At ~100k pageviews | $24/mo, all features | $19 / $29 / $39 by plan | Free |
| Free plan / trial | No free plan, 7-day trial | No free plan, 30-day trial | Free |
| Cookies | None set (vendor claim) | None (vendor claim) | _ga cookies, 2-year default expiry |
| Consent banner | Vendor says not needed | Vendor says not needed | Consent mode works with a banner/CMP |
| Funnels / journeys | Every plan | Business plan only | Explorations and funnel reports |
| Revenue attribution | Stripe, Polar, Shopify or custom events | Business plan only | Ecommerce events |
| Data retention | Forever on Pro; 3 years on the LTD | 3 years (5 on Business) | 2 or 14 months for user and event data |
| Script size | ~2 KB claimed; 4.3 KB raw, ~1.9 KB gzipped measured | 2.5 KB (vendor claim) | 135 KB gzipped, per Plausible |
| Hosting | Polish company, German servers (vendor) | Made and hosted in the EU (vendor) | |
| WordPress | Plugin v1.0.0, <10 installs; manual script advised | Official plugin available | Manual tag or a plugin |
Highlighted cells mark the stronger option on that row. Sources: seline.com/pricing, seline.com/gdpr, plausible.io pricing and plan docs, Google Analytics Help (cookies, consent mode, data retention), checked 29 September 2026.
Seline vs Plausible
This is the closer fight. Both start at $9 a month for 10,000 pageviews. Plausible’s Starter plan covers one site with 3 years of retention, goals, custom events and Google Analytics import. Growth adds up to 3 sites and team members. Business adds 10 sites, 5 years of retention, custom properties, the Stats API, funnels, journeys and revenue attribution (plausible.io/docs/subscription-plans). Plausible is also open source and offers a 30-day trial, more than four times as long as Seline’s.
Seline’s pitch is simpler: one plan, all features. At 100,000 pageviews that means $24 for Seline against $39 for Plausible Business, the tier you need for funnels. If you only need page counts and referrers, Plausible Starter at $19 is cheaper and better proven.
Seline vs Google Analytics 4
GA4 is free, which no paid tool can beat on price. The trade-off is privacy and consent. GA4’s JavaScript tag sets the first-party cookies _ga and _ga_<container-id>, which expire after two years by default (Google). Consent mode works together with a consent banner; when analytics storage is denied, no Analytics cookies are set and GA4 relies on modelling instead (Google). User-level and event data is kept for 2 or 14 months on the standard version, which limits long-term funnel reports (Google).
Seline’s argument is that you skip the banner and keep your history. That argument holds only as far as the vendor’s privacy claims hold, and it changes if you identify users with seline.setUser(). Then Seline acts as a data processor for personal data, as its own GDPR page says. None of this is legal advice. If search visibility matters more to you than visitor counts, our Nuwtonic review covers SEO and GEO tracking, which Seline does not do. The founder confirmed Seline is not an indexing tool.
5What do Seline users report?
Public feedback is positive but thin. G2 shows 4.8 out of 5 from 9 reviews, most from small businesses. Reviewers praise the simple dashboard and quick support, and their complaints are small: fewer advanced reports, no custom dashboards and little in-app help for funnels. The AppSumo deal itself has no reviews yet.
Other G2 reviewers ask for in-app guidance on funnels and for filtering on custom user properties in the dashboard. On support, Kevin S. of Seino wrote that a feature he requested by chat “was live and integrated” a few hours later. Kevin is also a homepage testimonial source, as are Quentin G., John M. and Ekaterina P. That does not make their reviews fake, but it means a good share of the G2 score comes from customers the vendor already showcases (G2).
That Reddit comment is a good example of why you should read the date. It praises a free plan that the pricing page says no longer exists. An older r/Wordpress thread also recommends Seline for “a free plan for up to 3,000 events per month” (Reddit). Outside G2 and AppSumo there is little independent discussion: Capterra has no reviews and Product Hunt has none either, with 309 followers (Capterra, Product Hunt). For how we weigh short Reddit recommendations, see our research on 806 Reddit threads.
What AppSumo buyers ask
The AppSumo Q&A had 7 questions on 29 September, all answered by the founder on the same day. You can exclude your own visits by IP address or by running seline.doNotTrack() in the browser console. Shared dashboards can be password-protected, and agencies can invite each client to their own project only (founder answer). There is no custom-domain white label yet (founder answer). Funnel steps are one page or one event each, but a page step can use a wildcard such as /location/* (founder answer). Cross-domain tracking works by installing the same token on each domain, the founder says, and he suggests testing it first (founder answer).
6Five things to check before you buy the Seline AppSumo deal
Five details on the listing and around it do not line up: the free plan, data retention, script size, the WordPress plugin and the review base. None of them is a deal-breaker, but each one changes what you actually get, so check them within the 60-day refund window.
1. The free plan has changed; verify before you buy
Seline’s pricing page and homepage FAQ now say: “No, we don’t have a free plan.” The WordPress plugin page still says there is a free tier under 3,000 pageviews a month (wordpress.org/plugins/seline-analytics). A G2 reviewer wrote in April 2025 that his team “started on the free tier”, and a Reddit user praised the free plan in May 2026. The most likely reading is that the free tier existed and was removed. Trust the pricing page, and ask the founder if a free plan matters to you.
2. Data retention: forever or 3 years?
The direct Pro plan lists “Forever data retention”. The AppSumo deal lists “3 year data retention” (AppSumo). Until the founder says otherwise, assume the lifetime deal keeps 3 years of history. That still beats GA4’s 2 to 14 months for event data and matches Plausible Starter.
3. The script is about 2 KB compressed, not raw
Seline’s homepage and AppSumo page say the script is about 2 KB; the WordPress plugin page says “under 3KB”. On 29 September the file at cdn.seline.com/seline.js was 4,285 bytes uncompressed, or about 1.9 KB once gzip-compressed. Our request got the uncompressed file from the CDN. So “~2 KB” is fair only for compressed delivery. It is still tiny either way; if speed is your concern, your hosting matters far more, as our shared-to-cloud hosting guide explains.
4. WordPress users: skip the plugin, add the snippet
Seline’s own WordPress docs say the script “is updated more frequently than the plugin” (seline.com/docs/wordpress). When a buyer asked on AppSumo whether the plugin is still maintained, the founder was candid:
He added that the team will revisit the plugin. The buyer who asked, an AppSumo Plus member who has not bought the tool, called it “a red flag for buyers.” We would put it more mildly: the manual script is the supported path, so use it. The plugin page’s claim that “no cookies are used unless explicitly enabled in settings” is another reason to prefer the plain script, which Seline says sets no cookies.
5. A small, partly vendor-selected review base
Nine G2 reviews, no AppSumo reviews, no Capterra reviews. Several G2 reviewers also feature on Seline’s homepage, as noted above. Seline is two years old and still young, so give the refund window a real test on your own site.
7Seline pros and cons
Pros
- One plan with funnels, journeys, revenue analytics and API included (seline.com/pricing)
- Lifetime deal pays off in about 4 to 6 months at list prices (AppSumo)
- Cookieless tracking with IPs never stored, per the vendor (seline.com/gdpr)
- Unlimited websites listed in the deal (AppSumo)
- Tracks visitors referred by AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity (seline.com)
- Fast, personal founder support in reviews and Q&A (G2)
- Public live demo you can explore before buying (app.seline.com/share/edain.io)
Cons
- No free plan any more, despite older pages saying otherwise (seline.com/pricing, wordpress.org)
- Lifetime deal lists 3 years of retention, not forever (AppSumo)
- Custom events eat into the same pageview limit (founder answer)
- WordPress plugin is barely maintained (founder answer)
- No custom dashboards or white label yet (G2, AppSumo)
- Future AI models may need a paid add-on (deal terms)
- Small review base, partly vendor-selected customers (G2)
8Seline Analytics review verdict (2026): who should buy, who should skip
Seline is a well-priced, privacy-first alternative to GA4 with more features per dollar than Plausible’s lower plans. The Seline AppSumo deal pays for itself in about 4 to 6 months, and the 60-day refund lets you test it on real traffic. The caveats are real, though: 3-year retention on the deal, a neglected WordPress plugin, a changed free plan and a young, thin review base.
Pick your tier by counting events too: a site with 20,000 pageviews and 10,000 tracked clicks already needs Tier 2. And if your site is also a target for bots, our Barrion review covers weekly security monitoring for the same kind of small team.

Seline Analytics FAQ
How much does Seline cost on AppSumo?
Five one-time tiers: $59 (25,000 pageviews a month), $129 (125,000), $289 (275,000), $399 (550,000) and $599 (1,000,000), with a 60-day refund window.
Is the Seline lifetime deal cheaper than paying monthly?
At list prices each tier pays for itself in roughly 4 to 6 months against Seline’s monthly Pro pricing, for example $59 once versus $14 a month for 25,000 pageviews.
Does Seline have a free plan?
Not today. The pricing page says there is no free plan, only a 7-day trial without a card. Older pages, such as the WordPress plugin page and some Reddit posts, still mention a free tier of about 3,000 pageviews.
Do custom events count toward the pageview limit?
Yes. The founder confirmed that pageviews and custom events share one monthly limit.
Should I use the Seline WordPress plugin?
Better not. The plugin is at version 1.0.0 with fewer than 10 active installs and was last tested on WordPress 6.8. The founder recommends adding the script manually.
Does Seline need a cookie banner?
Seline says it sets no cookies and stores no personal data, so no banner is needed. That is a vendor claim, not legal advice, and it changes if you identify users with profiles.
How does Seline compare with Plausible?
Entry prices are the same. Seline includes funnels, journeys and revenue attribution on every plan, while Plausible reserves them for its Business plan. Plausible is open source and offers a longer 30-day trial.
Can agencies give clients their own Seline dashboards?
Yes, through project-level team invites and password-protected shared dashboards. There is no custom-domain white label yet.
